Netherland Dwarf Rabbit's Diet
Before your rabbit is 3 months it should be eating hay rich in fiber, fresh water always, and young rabbit pellets ( high in fiber low in fat ) do not feed more than 3 tablespoons a day.
When your rabbit is three though seven months, fresh vegetables are added but the hay and pellets will stay the same. Add 1 or 2 pieces of different vegetables twice a week. make sure your rabbit is going to the bathroom, eating, drinking regularly, and acting normal. feed your rabbit more as it grows but still only 3 tablespoons of pellets. Vegetables 3 - 4 times a week and a little bit of fruit every couple of days. Fruit is more of a treat because it has a lot of sugar.
Once your rabbit has reached maturity around 8 - 12 months change its pellets to adult rabbit pellets and reduce it until you only feed it about 1/4 cup a week or instructions on back of container and increase fresh fruit and vegetable.
It is recommended to offer your rabbit 3 - 4 types of fresh cut and cleaned vegetables a day. Hay available at all times. Different types of fruit 2 - 3 times a week. Rabbit treats a couple times a month. 3 oz. - 5 oz. of water a day. If you leave the house and put your rabbit in a crate or enclosure leave vegetables, maybe some fruit, a lot of hay, and maybe some pellets. A little tip is make a ball of hay the size of your rabbit and that's around how much they will eat every day.
